Campus Ministry Coordinator

Cristo Rey Richmond High School is a Catholic learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose, and service. JOB SUMMARY: 

Under the guidance of the president, the Campus Ministry Coordinator helps create an environment that encourages and guides all members to contribute to the Catholic identity of the campus and the formation of a faith community that responds to the spiritual needs of the students, teachers, staff, and parents. In collaboration with the administration, faculty and staff, parents, students, and parishes, the campus ministry coordinator brings to life a campus rich in the Bon Secours charism, spiritual growth, prayer, sacramental experiences, discipleship, social justice, and preparation of leaders in service for the Church and society.

  • Sensitivity to the ethnic, cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds of the students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team that requires humility, integrity, a desire for continuous improvement, and openness to feedback.
  • Desire to work with high school students and enthusiasm to further build a positive school culture and community.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Schedule flexibility for occasional night/weekend events.
  • Has or is willing to work toward Campus Ministry or Youth Ministry Certification
  • Received and maintained Safe Environment Training (VIRTUS) and Diocesan Religion Teacher Certification.
  • Completed FBI fingerprint clearance, VDSS clearance and criminal background check

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Practicing Roman Catholic with an active sacramental faith life and in good standing with the Church
  • Bachelor’s degree with experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. (Masters preferred)
  • Demonstrated background in Catholic Theology/Ministry
  • Ability to work with school technology (use of database software, Microsoft Office, social media, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Spanish a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:  An occasional weekend or evening event may be required. Position requires long periods working at a desk, being on the telephone, and on a computer.  Expected to use own transportation to travel to and from events (mileage reimbursement available).
