Amy McCracken graduated from Marywood University and began with a teaching position in an alternative education program located in Gilpin Court, Richmond's oldest housing project. It was there that she got to witness the challenges for youth affected by generational poverty–and to see firsthand the tenacity and potential of students when they were given academic support and structure. After the school closed, Amy spent fifteen years in Richmond nonprofits, eight of those as Executive Director of Richmond Animal League. Eager to get back to working with youth, she has spent the better part of the last year as Executive Director for Richmond Cycling Corps, a cycling and outreach program serving youth in the East End. Amy is so excited to be at Cristo Rey and to see the impact we will make on our students!
