Staff Spotlight: Ms. Keiper
Cristo Rey Richmond would not be able to educate young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose and service without our dedicated and passionate faculty & staff. In an effort to recognize our educators, we will begin a series of Faculty & Staff Spotlights!
Q: Where are you originally from?
A: Madison, New Jersey
Q: What was your favorite subject in high school? And why?
A: My favorite subjects revolved around the particular teachers who supported me – Drama (Mr. Russo – he used to smoke in the classroom!?!) History – Mrs. Lichatin
Q: Where did you go to college? And, what did you study there?
A: Emerson College – Mass Communications
Q: What is your favorite part about working at CRR?
A: The students and being there to watch them experience all these great opportunities
Q: What does the “Cristo Rey Way” mean to you??
A: Being an advocate for yourself as well as others.
Q: What is your favorite memory at CRR so far?
A: Tough – I did love Draft Day. Everyday I have a new great memory. I will never forget this Freshman class.
Q: Who is your biggest mentor and/or inspires you? Why? A:Mr. Bunnell. He was my Chorus teacher in High School – he pushed us to do things outside our comfort zone. I was the worst kind of student complaining through it all. Years later when I became a teacher I saw him and thanked him for all of it. He is why I push my students to do and experience things outside their comfort zone.
Q: What advice do you have for CRR students as they continue to focus on getting to and through college?
A: Listen to adults. They do know what they are talking about.
